The city of Cuzco

Where Inca construction is found along with colonial buildings in an Andean baroque style, is undoubtedly one of the most important tourist destinations in the world.  All along the Sacred Valley of the Incas, only an hour away, our visitors can see the majesty of this empire.  In Ollantaytambo, one can see the different manifestations of Inca architectonic art, culture and cosmology.  Its main attractions are the Ollantaytambo temple, the Inca town, the great Pacaritanpu Pyramid, the Condor temple, the profile of Tunupa, Fort Pumamarca, the Muskapuquio agricultural terraces and the site museum.

Ollantaytambo

one of the most impressive architectonic complexes of the Inca Empire, was an important administrative center that probably also served military purposes, as evidenced by its walls and towers.  Additionally, there are remains of ancient roads and aqueducts that, together with the architectonic structure, make it one of the most amazing works built by the Incas.  Currently, it is a “tambo” or refuge located in a strategic place in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, whose residents maintain the traditions and customs of their ancient civilization.

Fort Pumamarca

is located only four kilometers from Ollantaytambo and is accessible by foot or on horseback.  It dominated access to the valley and there roads leading to the jungle were controlled.  It is a complex that consists of defense terraces, a surrounding wall, rooms for the elite, two-story houses, ceremonial areas, lookout posts, grain silos and living quarters.  The view from the fort is spectacularly beautiful.

The Muskapuquio agricultural terraces

are located in the Patacancha Ravine, two kilometers from Ollantaytambo.  They cover an approximately four-hundred-square-meter area on a hillside with eight hundred steps.  The terraces are an example of the agricultural architectonic and water engineering ability of the Incas.

Machu Picchu

the impressive Inca city located 130 km northeast of Cuzco at  2,200 masl which has been designated as one of the 7 new wonders of the world, as well as Cultural Heritage of Mankind.  The archaeological complex covers a 20 hectare area, where different constructions, such as the Sun Temple, the Intihuatana or solar observatory, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Main Temple and the so-called Condor Sector, stand out.
